Heather Ennis, MA

Director of Communications

Heather Ennis joined the team at the Council of Canadian Academies as the Director of Communications in February 2019. She is responsible for providing leadership for the CCA’s strategic communications activities, brand management, publishing and knowledge mobilization efforts.

Heather holds a B.Sc. (Hon.) from the University of Guelph, where she studied molecular genetics and philosophy, and a Master’s in Journalism from Western University. She has also completed executive certificates in Strategic Communication Management, Change Management, and Implementation Science.

Heather is an award-winning journalist, with extensive experience writing about a broad range of topics for newspapers and trade publications across Ontario. Prior to joining the CCA, Heather was the chief communicator at the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health, a provincial program of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), where she gained close to 15 years of progressive and diverse experience designing, planning, and implementing communications and knowledge mobilization strategies.
