Simon Brascoupé, MA, CAPA, CFNHM, Anishinabeg/Haudenosaunee―Bear Clan, is a Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation member in Kitigan Zibi, Quebec. He currently serves as the President and CEO of the First Nations Education Administrators Association, bringing his extensive expertise in cultural safety and healthcare. Simon is also an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Carleton University, an Adjunct Graduate Faculty in the Indigenous Studies Graduate Program at Trent University, and a Senior Fellow at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa.

Previously, Simon held several leadership positions, including CEO of the National Aboriginal Health Organization, Director of the Primary Health Care Division at the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch of Health Canada, and Director of the Aboriginal Affairs Branch at Environment Canada.

With a strong research interest in land-based healing, traditional medicine, and traditional knowledge, Simon has contributed significantly to the field of cultural competency and safety. His work, published in journals such as the Journal of Aboriginal Health, includes research on intellectual property rights related to traditional knowledge. He is also the Chair of the CIHR Institute of Aboriginal Peoples Health Advisory Board and has worked on training initiatives for national health organizations in Canada.

Simon holds a BA and MA from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he worked on a PhD. He is also a Certified Aboriginal Professional Administrator from AFOA Canada and a Certified First Nations Health Manager from the First Nations Health Manager Association.
