Peter Taylor is a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Queen’s University, cross-appointed to the Department of Biology and the Faculty of Education.

Professor Taylor’s work in education has focused on the construction of investigative problems at the school and university level. He has worked on fundraising and with the Ministry of Education on curriculum policy. He is a founding member of the Canadian Math Education Study Group (CMESG), is currently Chair of the Canadian Mathematical Society Education Committee, and is a regular participant in the activities of the Fields Institute Mathematics Education Forum. In 2011 he chaired the Queen’s University Senate Task Force on Academic Planning.

Dr. Taylor was the recipient of the 2013 Partners in Research (PIR) Mathematics Ambassador Award. Winners of the PIR Ambassador awards are selected based on their excellence in Canadian research and for contributions to public outreach activities.
