Gretchen Jordan

Dr. Gretchen Jordan is a Principal Member of Technical Staff with Sandia National Laboratories. Dr. Jordan works with the Sandia Science Technology and Engineering Strategic Management Unit, the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, and the DOE Office of Science on program evaluation, performance measurement, and innovative methods of assessing the effectiveness of basic research organizations.

Dr. Jordan served as a member of the expert panel that completed the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) assessment Making an Impact: A Preferred Framework and Indicators to Measure Returns on Investment in Health Research (2009). She is the North American Editor of Research Evaluation; a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science; and founder and past chair of the American Evaluation Association’s Topical Interest Group on Research, Technology, and Development Evaluation. She is an internationally recognized expert on logic modelling.

Prior to joining Sandia in 1991, she was Chairman of the Business Administration Department at the College of Santa Fe and staff member of US Senator Pete V. Domenici and the US Senate Budget Committee. Dr. Jordan has a PhD in Economics.
