David Cardin finished a long career with the AP Moller-Maersk Group as President of Maersk Canada. In addition to Canada, Mr. Cardin also worked in the U.S., Denmark and Mexico, where his responsibilities included sales and marketing, liner operations, and vessel sharing agreements in North America. In Mexico and Canada, he started and led Maersk ventures in 3PL logistics, an intermodal rail service from Manzanillo to Mexico City, trucking, container depots, as well as expanding Maersk’s port coverage.

Mr. Cardin recently served as an advisor to the Canadian Transportation Review Panel, offering marine, intermodal and infrastructure perspectives. During his time with Maersk, he chaired two container gateway committees, most recently the Intermodal Committee for Canada’s Pacific Gateway Performance Table. Mr. Cardin also served as a board member of the Shipping Federation of Canada, as well as the Maritime Employers Association in Montréal. He presently serves on the boards of Maersk Supply Service Canada and Milton Hydro.

In 1999, Mr. Cardin settled with his wife and three sons in Milton, Ontario. American born, David majored in transportation at the University of Tennessee. Now enjoying the privileges of Canadian citizenship, he aims to support his municipal and regional governments in enhancing Canada’s passenger and freight systems within the community.
